The title of Rajinikanth’s forthcoming film Thalaivar 170 titled as Vettaiyan, has been revealed by Lyca Productions on the actor’s 73rd birthday. The name of the character in the title comes from his hit movie, Chandramukhi. The film’s antagonist, Vettaiyan, was portrayed by Rajinikanth in a sophisticated manner, which contributed to the character’s immediate success.
T. J. Gnanavel has written and directed the next Indian Tamil-language film, Thalaivar 170 titled Vettaiyan. Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions produces it. Rajinikanth acts opposite Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in the film.

The film was announced in March 2023, with the working title Thalaivar 170, as it is Rajinikanth’s 170th starring role. Principal photography will begin in October 2023.
