‘Salaar’ surpassed ‘Dunki’ in Advance Bookings across India: Prabhas-starrer Accumulates Rs 13 Crore, Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Lags Behind

Advance booking information: ‘Salaar’ surpassed ‘Dunki’ in advance bookings across India. Prabhas’ next film, Salaar, has seen a surge in advance bookings in India as of Tuesday and sold over 6 lakh tickets worth about Rs 13.70 crore in advance reservations throughout the country.

‘Salaar’ surpassed ‘Dunki’ in advance bookings across India:

As of Tuesday, the film’s Telugu 2D screenings had sold around 4.30 lakh tickets, while its Malayalam 2D shows had sold a total of 87,361 tickets. Salaar’s 2D screenings in Hindi (63,746 tickets), Tamil (34,809 tickets), and Kannada (8,216 tickets), as well as Telugu (2,455 tickets) and Hindi (130 tickets), all contributed considerably to the film’s strong advance booking statistics.

The majority of advance bookings for the film came from Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Gujarat. Salaar was so popular in Hyderabad that movie ticketing systems BookMyShow and Paytm collapsed on Tuesday.

The film received a significant boost when the Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government permitted 1 a.m. presentations on day one across select screens. From December 22 to 28, the state government permitted single screens and multiplexes to raise ticket rates for the Hombale Films-produced Salaar by Rs 65 and Rs 100, respectively.

Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is behind the commercial actioner starring Prabhas. In India, Dunki sold roughly 3.65 lakh tickets for approximately Rs 10.39 crore. Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam are the top contributors to the film’s exceptional advance booking statistics in India.

Following Salaar’s advance booking response, trade analyst and film critic Sumit Kadel said on X, formerly Twitter, “Dunki has collected approx. 8 crore net for its Day 1 via pre-sale.” Before the initial showings on Thursday, the movie aims to raise an advance of Rs 14-15 crore net (Day 1).”

Salaar and Dunki are poised to have a massive box office battle. Salaar will be released in theaters globally on December 22, the same day as Dunki. Dunki will release in theaters on December 21.
