Actor Naga Chaitanya, who plays an investigative journalist whose life becomes entangled in a string of paranormal happenings as a result of his actions, makes his short-form debut in the series. The plotline of the Dhootha Web series:
Investigative journalist Sagar, portrayed by Naga Chaitanya, just launched Samachar, his own newspaper. The media outlet claims to be fair and truthful, but in actuality, things are quite different. In his publication, Sagar has marketed “plots,” which the creators deftly liken to real estate.
Sagar finds a piece of newspaper at a neighboring Dhaba on the first night of his media home that has exact facts about the death of his favorite dog. Sagar finds this unsettling, but he doesn’t give it any thought.
However, he finds other bits of paper that carry similar information, all of which prove to be right. The incidents that follow also force Sagar to take up criminal ways, and it brings the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kranthi, played by Parvathy Thiruvothu, on his tail.
