Malaikottai Vaaliban, starring Mohanlal and directed by the much-lauded Lijo Jose Pellissery, is set to hit theaters on January 25th, 2024.

Mohanlal has released a new folk-style song as their second single on Instagram, with The Complete Actor Mohanlal himself crooning. P. S. Rafeeque wrote the song’s basic composition and lyrics, and composer Prashant Pillai directed and arranged the music.
The new folk-style music depicts Mohanlal wearing white ash on his body and forehead, as well as his unique movie outfit. A crowd surrounded him with a golden ash-like material that covered them all, with many dancing along to the music.
Earlier in the month, Mohanlal revealed a peek from the film that resembles the locales shown in this single. The film’s first song, Punnara Kattile Poovanatthil, was released a few weeks ago and was performed by Shreekumar Vakkiyil, Abhaya Hiranmayi, and P. S. Rafeeque, with composer Prashant Pillai’s composition.
The film is supposed to be a one-of-a-kind topic in Mohanlal’s filmography, with the director describing it as “made like a Western with an interesting treatment.” The film’s posters and teaser, which were released a while ago, also have a surrealistic aspect to them.
Along with Mohanlal, the film contains an ensemble cast of performers, including Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manikandan R. Achari, and many more, with Lijo Jose Pellissery in the director’s chair.
Mohanlal’s work life
Mohanlal was most recently seen in his film Neru, which earned rave reviews from both public and critics. The film, directed and co-written by Jeethu Joseph and Santhi Mayadevi of Drishyam 2, is a courtroom drama starring Mohanlal, Anaswara Rajan, Siddique, Jagadish, Priyamani, and others. The film also ended Mohanlal’s dry streak at the box office.
Next year, the actor will appear in films such as Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure, directed by himself, Ram: Part 1, Vrushubha, and Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa. In addition to these, he is due to appear in films such as L2: Empuraan, Ram: Part 2, and Rambaan, all of which are scheduled for release in 2025.
