Actress Leelavathi from the Kannada film industry passed away on December 8 from age-related illnesses. She was eighty-five. She has acted in more than 600 movies and has also worked in the Telugu and Tamil film industries, many of which co-star Dr. Rajkumar.
She is well-known for her several standout roles, including those in Santha Thukaram, Bhakta Kumbara, and Mana Mecchida Madadi. She received the 1999 Filmfare Awards as well as the Dr. Rajkumar Award.
On December 9, at 11 a.m., Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar will pay their last respects.
The cause of Leelavathi’s death:
Because of age-related problems, Leelavathi spent several months in bed. She passed away in the evening at a private hospital in Nelamangala after being hospitalized due to respiratory difficulties.
The last ceremonies will be held at their farmhouse in Soladevanahalli, where Leelavathi had lived with him for decades, according to her son and actor Vinod Raj.
The last ceremonies will be carried out after the dead remains are stored at Nelamangala Junior College Grounds until Saturday noon, when the public is welcome to pay their final respects.
A number of celebrities from the film industry, such as veteran actor Shivarajkumar, paid their final tributes at the hospital. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and members of the film industry paid her a visit after her health had declined.
