Jonathan Majors terminated by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Company after being found guilty in harassment and assault cases

Known for his role as Kang in the Marvel movies, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of beating his former lover. The jury concluded that in a March confrontation, Majors assaulted British choreographer Grace Jabbari.

According to the BBC, Ms. Jabbari informed the court that she was left with “excruciating” agony, a cut behind her ear, bruises, and a fractured finger.

Due to the 34-year-old actor’s potential one-year jail sentence, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Company have decided to remove him from a prominent role in one of their superhero films.

The jury deliberated for three days before returning with a decision on Monday.

Media accounts state that Majors glanced down and pursed his lips when the jury read the decision, but he did not say anything further.

Majors made his screen debut in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in 2023 as Kang the Conqueror. He was scheduled to make appearances in two or more of the next Avengers movies, which are the most successful in the Marvel canon.

Following reports from US entertainment media, a source briefed on the decision told AFP that the studio will not be proceeding with Jonathan Majors.

After a disagreement with 30-year-old Jabbari during a Manhattan car trip, Majors was taken into custody in late March.

According to local media, Majors got a text message, and Jabbari attempted to steal his phone because he thought the message was from a different lady.

After that, there was a battle, and the attorneys for both parties argued back and forth over who had assaulted whom during the subsequent altercation over the gadget.

The attorney general’s office released a statement saying that Jonathan Majors was found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment by a Manhattan Criminal Court jury.

It further stated that majors will be punished on February 6.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated, “The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse and escalating patterns of coercion.”

“A jury determined that the pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend.”

Majors has acted in numerous high-profile movies, such as “Magazine Dreams,” which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival, “Creed III,” and “Lovecraft Country,” for which he received an Emmy nomination.
