When Yukinobu Tatsu’s television anime adaptation of Dandadan, a paranormal mystery fight and romantic comedy, was revealed, along with the October 2024 broadcast date, manga fans’ excitement reached unprecedented levels on Saturday during Jump Festa 24 for Dandadan fans. The crowd erupted in excitement and joy as they saw the character-voiced preview trailer.
Upcoming Dandadan anime star cast:
Shayan Wakayama as Momo Ayase, Natsuki Hanae as Okarun, Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny, and Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo are the main cast members of the anime. Famed for his works on Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mob Psycho 100, Hiroshi Seko is supervising and writing the scripts for the series, while Science SARU’s renowned assistant director Fūga Yamashiro is directing the animation.
The symphony and music are composed by Kensuke Ushio, the same guy who wrote the soundtracks for Chainsaw Man, DEVILMAN Crybaby, and Liz and the Blue Bird. The aliens and otherworldly creatures are designed by Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100), while the character designs are by Naoyuki Onda (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc).

The manga is published by Viz Media, and the tale opens with Okarun fighting aliens and strong spirits for the power of his secret “family jewel” while supported by his enthusiastic grandma and his high school infatuation.
Momo Ayase and Okarun are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to what they will and won’t believe in the paranormal. They set forth on a journey of secret admirations and paranormal battles they have to see in order to believe as they strive to disprove one another!
Momo Ayase has an odd friendship with the UFO fanatic at her school, whom she refers to as “Okarun” due to his weird name. Even though Momo believes in spirits, she finds aliens to be absurd. Her new acquaintance, on the other hand, believes the exact opposite. To set the record straight, Okarun went to a terrifying tunnel and Momo traveled to a UFO hotspot in order to refute each other. The beautiful story of adolescent love and oddly aroused ghosts and aliens that follows.
