In wedding season, Amazon Prime shared a crime documentary trailer, “Wedding.con.”. This documentary was created and produced by BBC Studios India Production and directed by Tanuja Chandra.

According to Director Tanuja Chandra, “Marriage is regarded as the most important turning point in a woman’s life in India and other South Asian cultures, and as she gets older, the pressure to ‘settle down’ keeps growing.” In reality, she is informed that the ship has already sailed by the time she is 35. Wedding.con tells the story of five women who fell prey to marital fraud but who have since recovered and bravely shared their stories to expose these frauds.
It opened my eyes when BBC Studios presented this idea to me, and I am thankful to Prime Video and these amazing ladies for believing so strongly in my ability to make this docuseries a reality. It gives me great optimism that this series, which will be available to stream on Prime Video in India and other countries, will reach a large audience and prevent women from falling for scams in the future.
