BTS’ V and UMI’s “Wherever u r” Global iTunes Triumph: A Record-Breaking Achievement

Since November 2023, the pair has been hinting to a song collaboration. When V began his military training on December 11, UMI shared an Instagram story of the K-pop idol in the studio performing their song. V (full name Taehyung) is a member of the famed K-pop boy group BTS, who debuted under BIGHIT Entertainment in 2013 with their single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. UMI is a Japanese-born singer-songwriter of African-American origin. Her 2018 hit, Remember Me, had 140 million Spotify streams, catapulting her to fame. In 2019, she also served as an opening act for American singer Conan Gray on his Comfort Crowd Tour.
