BTS agency BigHit Music has announced that the persons against whom it filed criminal accusations of stalking the members have been’subjected to criminal punishments. BigHit published a statement on Weverse on Friday. According to the organization, people who ‘repeatedly visited artists’ residences were reported to the police,’ and an investigation is currently underway. The individual who ‘impersonated a BTS member and shared unreleased songs’ was also detained, according to the statement.
BigHit Music takes action against ‘perpetrators of detrimental conduct’
“Hello,” said the statement. It’s BIGHIT MUSIC. Our organization often starts legal procedures against perpetrators of hostile BTS-related activities like defamation, personal assaults, sexual harassment, the dissemination of false information, and malicious criticism. We’d like to provide you with an update on these initiatives. During this quarter, we filed many criminal charges with law enforcement authorities based on information given by our followers and obtained via our own surveillance of conduct infringing on the rights of artists, including defamation.”
Taking action against stalkers by the agency
“The individual we filed criminal complaints against for violating the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking mentioned in our previous notice has been subjected to criminal penalties as a result of the prosecution’s investigation,” it said. Given the gravity of the behaviors that endanger the artists’ safety and privacy, we have filed petitions calling for harsher punishments. As reported in the media, the individual who constantly visited the artists’ house was reported to the police for charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Crimes of Stalking and Trespassing, and an investigation is underway.”

“We have obtained evidence of additional crimes of artist impersonation from the individual who previously impersonated a BTS member and leaked unreleased music.” Additional criminal accusations were filed against the impostor, which resulted in his arrest and indictment. “The trial is still ongoing, and we are awaiting the court’s decision,” the statement concluded.
Agency investigating harmful rumors about BTS members.
“With regard to the malicious rumours with obvious malicious intent towards the artists, we have compiled a number of malicious postings involving the dissemination of false information and defamation and included them in the complaint.” We have a zero-tolerance policy in place as we pursue legal action in civil and criminal procedures against harmful rumors that harm our artists’ reputations,” it said.
“The identity of an individual who repeatedly posted false information and malicious, defamatory comments on NatePann and Naver, totaling dozens of cases, has been determined after a lengthy police investigation.” Although the suspect in issue has sought a settlement, we have made it plain that we will pursue legal accountability to the utmost degree possible without settling,” the statement added.
“BIGHIT MUSIC collects information on malicious BTS postings on a regular basis, reports it to the authorities, and takes legal action.” We will continue to pursue legal action indefinitely, even while all members are serving in the military. We will continue to use rigorous measures and our principle of no settlement and no mercy to hold offenders responsible,” the statement said.
